" Have owned a Fellowes for over 10 years and after my old one jammed it was time for an upgrade. The future is now. No jams, smooth processing, and a device on wheels. It was well worth the (sale) price at Office Depot and solves a daily chore in my home office with secure documents. Still need to create the perfect waste container that will eliminate mess around the unit and provide a tie-off recycle bag. "

" Wonderful small cuts. Easy operation. Safety lights to guide use work well. I love the Jam resistance feature. Runs quieter than my previous shredder. The bin is a little hard to empty. "

" While shopping/purchasing this shredder, I was concerned because I did not find many customer reviews. I was influenced somewhat when I read patent pending or other wording that said intelliBar patented responsive technology. I figured/hoped that meant it was something special.
There was no assembly required, just take it out of the box and begin.
I had saved copies of tax returns from day one and spent a portion of 2-3 days filling five 30-gallon trash bags with attachments to the returns. I didn’t experience any jams but there were times it backed pages out saying too many were inserted. Because some pages were heavier and many were paper clipped together, I did find inserting 9-10 at a time saved me time. "

" The style and design on this model is sleek and contemporary. It fits our home office perfectly. It has safety features that we value. Our pupper likes to sniff around. The shredder prevents any mishap with its safety stop halo. I typically insert papers to its recommended capacity and it has yet to jam. Only time will tell regarding durability and it is too soon to tell. As such, I deducted one star from that category. I am satisfied with my purchase. "

" The LX 200 shredder is an excellent product! I researched "best affordable microcut shredder for home use" and this Fellowes product was one of the highly recommended shredders by Consumer Reports. I was happy to find it listed on the Staples website. This is the second shredder that we have purchased within the past four years - the quality of this one and attendant "how-to-use" instructions assures me that we will be using the LX 200 for many years. I have used it countless times over the past 4 weeks and am extremely satisfied. "

This shredder is NOT listed to shred CD/DVDs

I am amazed that most of the reviews for this shredder, the LX 200, included using it for shredding CDs. The Stapes' webpage for this shredder does not include CDs in the list of item the shredder can handle. The Fellowes webpage for this shredder does not include CD/DVDs in the list of item the shredder can handle. The Instruction Guide for the shredder sold by Fellowes directly, Staples, Office Depot, or Amazon explicitly says the shredder "WILL NOT SHRED:: ... CD/DVDs ...". The "WILL NOT SHRED" list has many other items. But those who are shredding CD/DVDs with this shredder can expect a shorter life for the cutter assembly. In fact, shredding CD/DVDs can void the cutter 7-year warranty. on the cutter assembly. If you want to shred CD/DVDs, buy a shredder which includes CD/DVDs in the list of items the shredder can shred.
